my first ever record that i got before i even got my record player (audio technica AT-LP60 my queen). this one was also from my late favourite local record store that was peeeerfect for secondhand vinyl. rip ‹/𝟹
i LOVE 'silly love songs' and 'she's my baby'. the evening is the time i change back into a kitten too!
i'm not usually a folk loooover but who could say no to a bit of nick drake?! 'horn' is one of my favourite instrumental songs. one day i will get better at finger picking my guitar and then i'll live my nick drake fantasy.
god i just love the strokes! my first ever conscious-ly favourite song was 'call it fate, call it karma' (albeit from another album), and i can't blame my 11 year old self!! there's something about literally everything they do that i am so very obsessed with, but 'is this it' probably does have to take the cake as my all-round fav album.
omg don't even get me started on bcnr. i am a bit of a fake fan and have not listened to their newest isaac(former lead singer)-less album, but their first 2 releases have some of the best lyrics and most interesting instrumentals i have ever had the pleasure of hearing. so so sick!!
i'll always have a place in my heart for the velvet underground!! i love love love 'heroin', which is probably also why i have recently gotten into lou reed himself! cutting out the middle man?? middle band?? bit off topic, but 'perfect day' from lou reed is so yum. so is the move 'perfect day' from wim wenders. wow. it's all so perfect.
i think that frank ocean is basically required listening at this point. got this from some stall deep in camden market and is my one and only bootleg!! how cutesy. NU is def not my favourite from frank, but i don't think i could ever justify paying the prices blonde and channel orange can go for. one day !
early 2024 me rediscovered mcr from my 6th grade emo phase, and they ended up being my top artist of the year. this completely baffled everyone i told because it's very out of character, but I LOOOVE MCRRR. my FAVV song is 'kill all your friends' which isn't on my vinyl, but is from the b-sides. it is soooo very good
inhaler! beyond the whole band being just super gorg, i think i am destined to always be an inhaler fan. if i'm being harsh, all of the songs do sound kind of the same. but if i guess if it ain't broke don't fix it!! i'm soo obsessed with 'my king will be kind', but i don't think this album has a single skip.
matty healy is the one person i could never cancel. i'm sorry. i've seen the 1975 live 3 times now, one of which being debut (this album!) performed in its entirety for the 10-year-anniversary. seeing 'menswear' live was probably my peak and i would recommend to absolutely everyone xx
the day PD vinyl was announced u could hear me shouting the news from the rooftops!! one of my favourite albums of aaall time - it was the first concept album i got really stuck into, and the ethel cain lore was all-consuming for at least 6 months of my life. now i'm more nonchalant about it.
i've got this on vinyl because my uni flatmates heard me listening to 'stuck on the puzzle' in my room so much during my evil spring 2025 crash out that they gifted it to me for my birthday. how sweet. it was also my first 7" which was exciting!
found this one while i was antiquing with my mother in spain. so it's so fancy and spanish! i am so obsessed with 'love to love you baby' and have listened to all 20 minutes of it a few more times than i thought i had the attention span for. i have yet to listen to the b side songs... soz
life changing?? very grateful 'man of the year' and 'david' were released when they were. if they had been released like 2 months earlier i probably would've gone literally insane..... don't worry i'm #healed now xx
my other absolute fave off virgin is 'shapeshifter'. THANK U LORDE!!
typical. another win from the irish! the first song i listened to off this album was 'favourite', but unfortunately listening to it now fills me with the weirdest kind of siiickly sweet feeling that i don't think i'm capable of stomaching. the deluxe release was big for me - 'before you i just forget' is prob one of my favfavfav songs ever!!
